After a well-deserved Christmas break we’re back in business!
We started it all with a magical concert with our friends in HELL in Trinitatis Natkirke. We did one set, they did one set and then we did one together. It was truly inspirational and exciting to be a part of. There are pictures up here.
We’ve also had some great rehearsals and last week this gem of a song appeared. Enjoy!
Saturday, 05/11, we won a Danish Music Award for Best Vocal Jazz Release of the Year! We’re so happy and proud, and would like to send a warm thank you and lots of love to all of you who have been there for us through the making of the record. Wow, we’re still pinching ourselves!

This Sunday, 06/11, IKI has the great pleasure of doing a live recording with famous Japanese vocal improviser Koichi Makigami, Søren Kjærgaard on piano (DK) and Torben Snekkestad on sax (NO)!
The place is The Village Recording, Skalbakken 15, Vanløse, the time is 19:00.
It’s going to be an exciting and extraordinary experience and we hope you will be there to share it with us!

DMA Jazz has nominated our record to Danish Vocal Jazz Release of the Year! We’re so honoured and excited, and looking very much forward to the award show in Huset i Magstræde, 05/11.
And it feels like it was only yesterday our record was born…
Fall is here, IKI is going into our 3rd year, and we’re still going strong!
The last few months have been filled with so many exciting things. We joined Distortion Festival for the Live Mixtape Royal (check out pictures on our facebook) where we played with, among others, Midnight Magic. It was a blast!
In August we went into the studio with Jørgen Leth, and made a beautiful track to Grevens.Fejde’s poetry+music album. We had an amazing time with Jørgen and we look forward to hopefully working with him again in the future.
And now we have two concerts coming up. First there’s “Musik for de sultende”, “Music for the hungry”, a charity concert for the hunger crisis in East Africa (read more here). And on Saturday we’re dressing up as pirates for RockPiraten at The Rock in Copenhagen (link). So if you’re in the area bring your parrot and join the party!

Finally, we can proudly say that our debut album “IKI” is officially out. We had a lovely release party on monday at Charlottenborg. Warm thanks to our guest musicians and dancers, to everyone who arrived and to all the people who helped us make the day very special. We won’t forget it 
Now we are going to Fanø Free Folk Festival and after that we have a couple of concerts in Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Check the dates and times in Concerts & Tours

Finally our record is ready to be released! And therefore we’d love to invite you all to our release concert June 20th in Charlottenborg, Copenhagen. As you can see from the program below the concert will not only be IKI, but we’ve also invited some of our favourite musicians and dancers to join us.
